Our Mission: Be
the Premier construction-materials company on the western slope.
That has been the mission of United Companies since its inception.
An internal quality control program has been in place since the early days of the company nearly 50 years ago, no one back
then could have imagined the development of the construction industry and the scope of materials testing that would develop.
As United Companies has grown and expanded, so has the scope of its quality control

program. With the ever increasing emphasis on the quality of
construction materials and the advancement in aggregate testing technology in the construction industry, United Companies
has kept pace by expanding our Quality Control Department to meet the demand. United Companies currently operates
an AASHTO R18 and CCRL accredited construction materials laboratory in Grand Junction, Colorado. Our central lab performs
crusher, batch plant and asphalt plant control testing for our operations throughout the western portion of Colorado. We develop
and perform volumetric testing of Superpave and Marshall Asphalt mix designs and Portland Cement Concrete mix designs as well
as production compliance testing of our finished asphalt and concrete products. Our QC Department also operates fully functional
mobile laboratory facilities on our Colorado DOT projects as well as Federal Highways and Federal Aviation projects in western
Colorado. Our staff of Certified Materials
Technicians receives regular training to ensure the highest level of competency in their field. Our equipment is subject to
constant calibration and maintenance schedule to ensure its accuracy and dependability.
Constant communication and cooperation both within our company and with the consumer is the focus of our direction.
From crusher control to finished product asphalt and concrete testing, our QC
Department is actively involved in the partnership between production, construction and sales to ensure the quality
of our products, whether sand and gravel, asphalt or ready mix to meet the ever increasing standards of the construction materials
industry.
